Daan Bantayan and Gibitngil Island
Gibitngil Island is part of the Municipality of Medellin located at the Northern-most part of Cebu. This island is usually visited by tourists on island hopping. This paradise island has white powder sands and aqualine waters ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Gibitngil Island is not that famous like that of Malapascua and in Bantayan Island. If you are in Bogo or San Remigio, you can already see this small island silently calling tourists’ attention. It is known to be the centre of the world’s richest marine biodiversity having various kinds of underwater corals and species.

Here we come at Gibitngil Island
Gibitngil is proud of its waves from the open sea in the west coastline and rich agriculture in the mainland in the east. Gibitngil is rich in shrubs, coconuts, cassava and a very simple lifestyle. No transportation, you just have to use your feet to navigate yourself around the place. It is a small place anyway. People in the area maintain a very peaceful community having a very low crime rate. You can reach the island by sea or air. Approximately, the travel is about two to three hours by road trip to Medellin and then you have to travel another forty five minutes to the very island. In Gibitngil Island, there are no accommodations available but its neighbouring town has lots of it like that in Bogo and Bantayan.
As mentioned earlier, the island has wonderful water scenery under and above that is why water activities are highly recommended in the area, such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, Jet Ski, and others. There are Pump boats in the area available in the area at affordable rental fees, driven by the natives themselves who in an instant, serves as your tourist guide in the Island.
