Cordova Island Beaches
Cordova Island is a small province just beside the Mactan across Cebu. It got its name from a city in Spain also named Cordova. This place is always mistaken to be a part of the Mactan Island but the Cebu City government publicised once again that Cordova is another province of Metro Cebu.
People in the island live majorly in the fishing industry. That is also why the island Cordova is known for the famous Bakasi Festival. Bakasi is under the family of sea snakes, very safe to eat and Cordova is the abundant Bakasi supplier in Central Visayas. With it, Cordova takes good care of her marine reefs and sanctuaries, establishing a Marine Habitat Village in Barangay Day-As.

Cordova Bay
Cordova is very abundant in Mangroves in most of its coastlines, serving as their boarders too, avoiding strong waves and other bad water activities to cause any damage. More and more volunteers from different places mostly schools’ organizations, planting more mangroves in the Island and even in the Mactan Island.
The most awaited time in Cordova Island is when long-legged birds of white and light brown colours coming from Australia fill the island since it is winter season there. Other than that, there are other bird species discovered in the area like the Chinese Egret and native Sea Gulls.
